Salary: £161.25 per week


Working Week: Monday - Friday
Approx Start and Finish times 08:30 to 16:30

 

Total hours per week: 37.50

The Role:
 

Main Purpose of the Job:

To provide a high quality and cost-effective Grounds Maintenance service to A J Williams’ customers.

To carry out a full range of grounds-care duties working on various private and commercial properties.


Specific Tasks

Working under supervision within the following areas:

  • Provide a high-quality grounds and garden service, ensuring compliance with agreed standards, specifications and timescales

  • Represent A J Williams on site, working with customers, contractors and colleagues in a polite and professional manner

  • Ensure company vehicles are kept in a clean condition, with regular maintenance and compliance checks taking place to ensure safety of use

  • Operate, store and maintain equipment to comply with Health and Safety procedures including COSHH, PPE and prompt reporting of incidents on site

  • Deliver services to standards and specifications, ensuring awareness of the need to deliver a high quality service to customers

  • Accurately record work, outcomes and activity to capture costs during the delivery of services

  • Provide general support and assistance to the wider team

  • Report any issues which may cause concern to the reputation of A J Williams or impact on the safety of its clients or staff

  • Operate at all times within the framework of A J Williams’ policies and procedures

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings e.g. Toolbox Talks

  • Undertake relevant training in connection with this job role

  • Carry out any other duties which may be required from time to time and that are commensurate with the post

 

 


Other Duties:

  • The post holder is responsible for maintaining their own portfolio, ensuring all units are completed as set out by the training body

  • The post holder must, at all times, carry out their responsibilities with due regard for A J Williams’ policies and procedures

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties consistent with the above as directed from time to time by the Management team

 

 


Health and Safety:

  • Work to operational procedures, safe working practices and Health and Safety procedures as required

  • Ensure that tools and equipment are inspected daily prior to use

  • Report promptly any problems with tools, equipment or vehicles

  • Attend core training as part of A J Williams’ legal obligation to health and safety

  • Ensure all manual handling involved in the role is carried out safely

  • Undertake a risk assessment prior to starting work at any address

  • Complete works in accordance with risk assessments and method statements

  • Ensure PPE is worn at all times and is suitable for the task in hand. Ensure PPE corresponds with information provided in COSHH data sheets and inspect before use. Report any issues with PPE to your manager/supervisor

  • Ensure that the interior and exterior environment where work is being completed is kept clean and tidy at all times to avoid the risk of injury to clients, colleagues or members of the public


The post holder will undergo a standard DBS check.


Additional requirements:

  • Be able to carry out physically demanding work which is a day to day requirement of this role and which will include bending, lifting, carrying, climbing, excavation, moving heavy loads

  • A willingness to work in all sorts of weather
